David holzinger

CONDUCTOR

 

David Holzinger is the founder and artistic director of the EXEDRA Ensemble with which he performed at the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festival in 2017. He was invited to lead the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra on a tour to China in early 2016 and war reinvited a for a second tour in the same year. As an accomplished opera conductor David Holzinger was touring in Germany and Austria with the “Junge Oper Rhein-Main”, conducting “Caliban” by Moritz Eggert. Further invitations to the “Neue Oper Wien” (P. Eötvös – “Angels in America”) followed. 

David Holzinger is guest conductor at the Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra in China and conducted various orchestras such as the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vilnius State Symphony Orchestra, the Erzgebirgische Philharmonie Annaberg, the Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie, the Landeskapelle Eisenach, the Philharmonic Orchestra Plauen-Zwickau, the Filharmonie de Stat Sibiu, the Rouse Philharmonic Orchestra and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists. 

At the renowned opera festival “Tiroler Festspiele Erl” he was assisting the general music director to conduct Rossini’s “Ermione” (2018), “Semiramide” (2017) and “Guillaume Tell” as well as Verdi’s “La Traviata” (2016) and was reinvited to further projects. 

Born in Austria in he studied violin, piano and orchestra conducting at the conservatory in Vienna and was performing as a violinist in local orchestras. He continued his conducting studies with Christian Kluttig and Steffen Leissner at the University of Music “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden and was invited to masterclasses with Mark Stringer, Nicolas Pasquet, Johannes Schlaefli and Peter Guelke.
